Subjective (Summary and Background)
Osteogenesis Imperfecta was obviously a severe, congenital genetic disorder which can trigger the human our bones to be extremely delicate. This disease is definitely caused by a mutation(whether it become deletion or duplication) in chromosome 17q21, 31-q22, 7q22. 1, the chromosomes that help the physique produce the proteins to create collagen, which can be what makes bone fragments and muscle tissue strong. Due to body not being able to create collagen, the bone fragments become very brittle and may increase the risk of fracture by a substantial amount. The life expectancy of those with Osteogenesis Imperfecta differs due to how serious the disease can be. The physical features of people that have the OI are short stature, triangular shaped confront, breathing problems, some hearing loss, brittle teeth, and bone deformities.
Fragile Bone disease is relatively exceptional, with about 20, 000-50, 000 US citizens currently living with the disease.
