The tomato is typically reddish colored, edible fruit, and a vegetable. Tomato is rich with nutrients, including Supplement C, Supplement A, potassium, folic acid and more. It adds more nutrients for the diet than any other fresh fruit or veggie. The Tomato has beginnings that can be followed back to the Aztecs around 700 A. D; in fact it is generally assumed that it is indigenous to the Unites states. The Aztec people were a particular ethnic group from central Mexico, and spoke the Nahuatl dialect. The term tomato originated from the word " tomatlвЂќ inside the Nahuatl dialect of Aztec people, which in turn meant the " inflamed fruitвЂќ. The tomato is thought to have spread across the world by way of Colonizers, mainly the Spanish cure. One reference point was by Bernardino sobre SahagГєn, a Spanish missionary and author who composed about a ready sauce that was provided for sale in the financial markets of Tenochtitlan which contains tomatoes, warm red potatoes, hot green peppers and pumpkin seed products (Roche, 2010). The Spanish spread the tomato throughout their colonies first, then the Caribbean, after that to to the south Asia and later to the complete entire Hard anodized cookware continent. The Spanish likewise brought the tomato to South Europe specifically Italia, where this grew very easily in Mediterranean climates and soon the cultivation started out. Another reference to the tomato in European books is found in natural writings by Sienese botanist, Pietro Donna Mattioli in 1544, who have describe tomato or pomi d'oro as they were known as in Italy, saying that we were holding eaten in Italy with oil, salt and self defense (Roche, 2010). The Europeans in the north where unwilling at first to simply accept the tomato. In England, the British considered the tomato as poisonous because the plant belongs to the Nightshade family, which some types are truly poisonous. In Germany they will called that the " wolf peachвЂќ because German born folklore believed that witches used the plants in the nightshade family members to stir up werewolves.
